Happy, confident children, learning to learn

Fundraising 2014-15

Throughout the school year, we usually raise funds for our school and a variety of different charitable organisations.  This year we have nominated one charity and that is CLIC Sargent for Children with Cancer.

We decided on this charity as we have pupils who have been affected by this illness and are receiving support from this charity.  By supporting this charity we are not only donating to a worthy cause but we are also educating our children on the disease and the effects it has on not only the child, but also other members of the family.

We are still supporting the nationally recognised charity events such as Macmillan Coffee Morning and Children in Need and will also raise funds for the benefit of specific areas of the school such as Choir or Sport Teams transport to events.  This page will keep you updated on the funds raised.

TERM 1 - FUNDRAISING ACTIVITY

AMOUNT RAISED
Macmillan Coffee Morning - We welcomed all parents and carers to join us in the school hall for a cup of coffee and a piece of homemade cake.  Thank you to everyone who either baked a cake for this event or who helped eat them! £219.68
Going for Gold Week for CLIC Sargent - All the children took part in a sponsered music marathon where we kept music going from 9am through to 3.00pm going class by class.  The children also created a huge loom band which totalled approximately 138 metres and parents had to guess the length.  Finally everyone was invited to wear 'Gold' for a donation to the charity.  We raised an incredible amount and we thank you for every penny! £1,038.75

Book at Bedtime - A great social event for the parents and a fun storytime, hot chocolate, marshmallows and biscuits for the children!  Not a lot of profit made but the aim of the event was a relaxed environment for new parents to have a catch up! £42.00
The Choir Carol Singing at Sainsburys - The Choir sang at Sainsburys for an afternoon to raise money for transport to events throughout the year.  They did an amazing job and sounded fantastic!  Thank you to the support from Sainsburys and the parents who also came along. £101.45
Christmas Fair - The FOCB did another fantastic job at organising and running the Christmas Fair.  Everyone enjoyed a number of festive activities and treats and we managed to beat last years profit!  Thank you to all the parents and staff that helped out at our yuletide event! £2,089.42
