Selected Year 5 and 6 children took part in a tag rugby tournament at Nailsea and Backwell RFC. We lost our first match against St Martins, drew against Crockerne and won against Worle Village. Although we finished second in our group stage, we did not get through to the next round. We then enjoyed a friendly match against St Annes. Well done to all the children for showing a great team spirit and for representing the school with pride and enthusiasm. Thank you to Mr Banks for helping and encouraging the team in all their matches!
Well done and thank you to all the Year 5 children who volunteered to help. They set up and ran sporty lunchtime activities for all year groups during lunchtime play.
Reception, Resource Base and Castle Batch preschool took part in the National campaign "The Chatterbox challenge". We raised £110 for the charity I CAN - which specifically supports children with communication disabilities. We performed songs and rhymes together to highlight this as an important way to learn vocabulary.
On Tuesday 23rd February over 50 children from Years 5 and 6 took part in the first round of tag rugby trials. From that, 28 were invited to attend a training session with Dan Lawton from Future Stars. He praised all the children and said they were very 'coachable' and a credit to the school. 15 children have been selected to go to the Tag Rugby Tournament in March. Well done to everyone involved!
Selected Year 5 and 6 children took part in a cross-country event at Hutton Moor. There were over 500 children taking part. Our teams all ran well and tried their best. They supported each other and enjoyed the event. Congratulations to all the children that took part.
