Allergies

When we are told of an allergy or allergies, we will work with the staff member, pupil appropriate to their age and their parent/carers, to carry out a thorough risk assessment. This will seek to identify relevant hazards, look at realistic and achievable control measures which will include appropriate training, personal responsibility, appropriate actions and more, so that risk outcome levels are as low as reasonably achievable. We will then seek the 'sign up' of all relevant parties to the risk assessment and agree an appropriate review pattern.

School Lunches

Chartwells is our school lunch provider since 9th April 2018.  They have recently advised the price has increased from £2.10 to £2.20 from 2nd September 2020.  This is still a competitive price and is for the meal and dessert.

Please see the menu link below.

These options are chosen on the day in the classroom with their teacher but please take a look at the menu with your child beforehand so they are aware of that days options.

As a reminder all KS1 children in Year R, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to a free school meal funded by the Government.

Census Day Thursday 7th October 2021

On three days every year we have a school census where we complete data about the numbers of children in school and whether they are having a school meal or are eligible for an income based Free School Meal (FSM). Our funding is then paid to us from this information.

The money that the school is given in April each year to pay for the free meals, that all KS1 (Reception, Yr1 and Yr2) children get under the ‘Universal Infant Free School Meals’ scheme, is based on the average of how many children have a school meal. We therefore need as many children as possible to have a school dinner provided by our school kitchen on Thursday 7th October.

We get extra funding based on the numbers of children having a Free School Meal. You can find more information on how to apply for FSM here.

We hope to see as many of our KS1 children joining us on this Census Day Meal and supporting our school.

Please note that the Thursday and Friday menu options for this week (Week 1) have been swapped because of the Census menu so Friday's options are:-

Red - Beef Bolognese
Green - Butternut Squash and Tomato Bake with Rice
Yellow - Jacket Potato with Tuna
Blue - Tomato Pasta
Vegetables - Broccoli and Sweetcorn
Pudding - Pineapple Upside Down Cake with Custard

School Milk

Our school receives fresh daily milk from School Milk Services Ltd. Under 5s and those children who receive free school meals receive free daily milk, and ages 5 - 11s have the opportunity to have school milk provided for a small fee payable directly to School Milk.

If your child would like to receive daily milk then please see the attached letter and details on how to sign up to the scheme.
